Steph is a Public Relations expert, managing large and small accounts with sensitivity and professionalism. It is important to Steph as it is to the Truth PR brand to deliver authentic as well as effective promotional campaigns.
In 2019 Steph moved to the south coast for family reasons. It was a new opportunity but also hard to leave behind her beloved team and support network.
Being such a personable individual as well as a fantastic PR professional Steph established new business networks while continuing to work remotely for Truth PR. Just as she was starting to feel settled COVID-19 hit and the whole family went into lockdown, shielding vulnerable family members.
The business was busier than ever in this difficult period with lots of clients needing emergency comms and extra support. It was a challenge juggling the additional work and family, including young children, but she delivered – often working long unsociable hours – and clients have since expressed their thanks for the commitment.
Before lockdown Steph was missing the office camaraderie, suddenly everyone was now working remotely and work and client meetings were all online. This bonded the team in a new way and has reminded everyone of the values of Truth PR, which is to connect businesses with their audience in a truthful, genuine way.
This unique period has made Steph realise it’s not really about the type of business she works with, but the people she works with. She has also been reminded that what she is working on is important – being a creative, strategic thinker, she is best suited to clients who want long term success and meaningful results.
It has also reinforced the importance of working with people with similar values and how this keeps you motivated and working to your best. More than anything the whole lockdown experience has helped confirm to Steph what is important to her and that she is heading in the direction of where she wants to be.
The commitment demonstrated during this challenging period has been recognised with 2 award nominations by Public Relation and Communications Association Dare Awards for ‘small consultancy of the year’ and ‘low budget campaign of the year’. Well done Steph and the Truth team!
